Condolence: Dear Monique:
My deepest condolences to you, Dan, Randy and Leanne. I have had the pleasure of spending time with you and your family for over 32 years!! Joe and Mary always opened their home and their hearts to me and made me feel like family. As adults, I loved when Joe would get us drinks and bring us to the kitchen to show us his latest creation. I looked forward his passionate description of his latest creative project. He was a great cook and even made his own dried herbs, which he was happy to share with me. They are still in my spice cabinet today. Not hard to figure out where you got your creativity!! I will miss visiting the Venier house when I come to the Sault but am grateful for our friendship and all the wonderful memories together. Rest in peace Joe, you will be missed.
Love Nicole

Condolence: My condolences to the Venier family for the loss of their father, and also to Joe’s friends and extended family. Although I didn’t spend much time with Joe (just a few trips to Canada) the time I did spend at his home He was a gracious host and I enjoyed our many conversations.
When he played the piano I can only imagine what a wonderful musician he must have been when he was a band leader as a young man, His was a generation like my father whose sense of duty prompted them into military service and then after that service to raise their own families
Joe managed to have a successful career as an engineer and thus the ability to provide for his wife Mary and the four children they had together. To stay the course your whole life and do this says a lot about a man, and in the end that is something Joe can be proud of
Joe’s life will be in the memories held by those of us that knew him and the living legacy of his children.
I always loved the sentiment in these lyrics about life and death by the Irish band The Waterboys,
Man gets tired
Spirit don't
Man surrenders
Spirit won't
Man crawls
Spirit flies
Spirit lives
When man dies
Man seems
Spirit is
Man dreams
The spirit lives
Man is tethered
Spirit free
What spirit
Is man can be
Godspeed Joseph Venier
