Abbie is predeceased by her parents Robert and Edith Barker and her sister Glenna Yuskiw (Mike). Abbie and her husband Leonard (deceased), raised their family in Sault Ste. Marie. She spent the last four years of her life in Lake Country, British Columbia to be closer to her children. Abbie is the mother of Judy (Bruce), Suzanne (deceased), Nancy, Bob (Elda), Marc (Jenny), Ann, Philip (Cindy), and Paul (Carey). She is also the proud grandmother and
great grandmother of Stephanie and Kyle (Emily, Sarah, James), Blane and Martina, Kristen, Danielle, Michael, Kaitlin and Jordan (Koa, Emi), Danielle, Matthew, Avery, and Hayden.

Abbie enjoyed 40 years of volunteer service with the Catholic Church in the Catholic Women’s League, Pastoral Care, the House of Hope, and as an Associate of the Grey Sisters.

She will truly be missed by her family and friends. We will love her forever and keep her beautiful smile in our hearts always.

Family and friends are invited to attend a mass at St. Gregory Church, 71 Estelle Street, Sault Ste. Marie, on Friday, April 5, 2019, at 10 am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and stroke foundation would be appreciated.

Abbie, you were always there for me as a child, always caring and consoling. As a teenager you were always there as a guiding light, always willing to listen and understand with more patience than I sometimes deserved. And you always were willing to share a prayer. As an adult I would come to visit my second mom every chance I got while I was in the Sault. And each and every visit I still consider very special. I am blessed and am a better person in my life for knowing you. See you again sometime. Put in a good word for all of us cause I know that the good Lord will make time for a special soul like you.
