Wife of the late Aime LaRiviere. Cherished maman of Denise (David) MacGillivray and the late Alfred Phillips. Loving “grandmere” of Aaron (Julie) MacGillivray, Trista (Patrick) Kerr, Chad and Carrie Phillips. Great- grandma, of Nathan, Kayla, Jaron, Noah, Dylan, Caitlyn and Zach. Survived by her sisters Rita, Irene and sister-in-law, Belle. Predeceased by her brothers Victor, Ray, Roland, Henry, Andrew and sisters Lea, Lucille and Jeanne. Alice always looked on the bright side of life demonstrating “la joie de vivre”. Her courage, determination and strength of character inspired those who had been blessed to know her. This beautiful, gentle, kind, caring, compassionate and humble lady, our matriarch, will be missed. Her memory lives on in our hearts. Her unconditional love for her family was felt by all. Our gratitude and thanks to her homecare nurse, Marcie, whose dedication, compassion and kindness brought Alice so much comfort. Thanks also to her many caregivers from the March of Dimes. With your daily help Alice was able to live with as much independence as her medical challenges allowed. Shirley, thank you for being such a kind and considerate neighbour. Many thanks also to Dr. Booth and the palliative team who gave her continual support and care at home and at ARCH. To all the staff and volunteers at Suomi Eesti Maya (OFRA), thank you for making Alice’s last years safe and secure in her happy home environment. A huge hug goes out to the ARCH hospice staff who for 83 days held Alice in their collective arms. Your professionalism and compassionate handling of our family while journeying with “Bounce Back Betty” was unforgettable. Alice said,” I feel like I’m in Heaven.” We would also like to express our gratitude to friends who showed her love, support and kindness. Alice always looked on the bright side of life demonstrating “La Joie de Vivre.” This beautiful lady, our matriarch, will be missed. At Alice`s request, there will not be any visitation.
