Obituary for William Robert Stadnyk

STADNYK, Father William Robert (Bill) -
Went to be with our Lord on May 22, 2018, surrounded by his family, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Doreen Stadnyk for 65 years. Loving father of the late Robert (Sandy) and Lynne, and survived by his children Kevin (Pam), David (Colleen), Timothy (Sandra), and Kim (Ralph). Dear brother of Stan Stadnyk, Anne Hylands (Jim) and Ogla Swyntuck (Nick). Predeceased by sisters Nancy, Stacey and Eva Austin, and brother John Zulak (Pauline). He will be sadly missed by his 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a lab technician at KVP in Espanola, prior to serving the Lord as a Priest for 61 years in Manitouwadge, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie and Goulais River. He was born and raised in Garden River, Ontario. Throughout his life he led many canoe trips including voyages from Sault Ste. Marie to Montreal, and from Calstock to James Bay. He was a member of the Flying Fathers hockey team and spent much of his life caring for Camp Manitou and Cara Community Corporation. His memory will be carried on through Mount Stadnyk, which is named after him and is climbed yearly by his children and grandchildren. Bill lived life to the fullest, touching many lives along the way. His infectious smile and boundless ambition will always be remembered. All are invited to the service at Holy Trinity Church, on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation and refreshments to follow at Trinity Center. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Holy Trinity Church, St. James Anglican, or Camp Manitou would be greatly appreciated by the family.
