After a courageous battle it is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, Nonno and Zio at the Sault Area Hospital on October 28, 2017 with his family by his side at the age of 91. Leaving to mourn the love of his life Elena of 65 years of marriage. Dearest father of Josephine “Pina” (Tony) Bennardo and the late Luigi “Gino” (Sandra). Beloved Grandfather of Sonia Blonda (Carmen), Nicole Wood-Solomon (Kevin) and Antonio Frank Bennardo. Great grandfather to Anthony Martino and Audrina Nicole Blonda. Waiting for him in heaven are the late Angels Somia and Mattaia Wood-Solomon. Dearest brother to Maria Gallo (Bruno), late Rosairio Gallo (late Antonio), late Carmela Lepore (late Saverio), late Nicola Bennardo-Ciddio (late Maria), late Ernsesto (Paolina) and the late Rosina Pucci (late Francesco). Brother –in-law to Salvatore Fata (late Lisa). Amedeo Fata (Luisa), late Teresa Fata (late Fiore), late Antonio Fata (Anna) and the late Nicola Fata (late Ortenzia). Zio Ciccio to many nieces, nephews and friends near and far who will miss his sweet smile and gentle nature. Family and friends are invited to call at O'Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James Street) on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gerard Majella Church (211 Pentagon) on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 11:00am with Father Alex Saurianthadthil officiating. Thank you to the staff and Physicians at Sault Area Hospital for their care and compassion, especially the 3B staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation.
