Obituary for
Marie PLASTINO
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Plastino on March 4, 2017 at St. Boniface Hospital after her three year battle with breast cancer, which she fought every day. Marie is survived by Doug Merrell, her partner of 10 years, their daughter Lola, her son Caed (his father Brian & Gail), parents Frank & Betty Plastino, brothers Michael (Shelley, and her niece, Kaitlyn) and Anthony of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and extended family. She leaves behind many friends who will miss her dearly. Marie was born on April 14, 1973 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She moved to Winnipeg in 2001 to work for Great West Life as a Financial Analyst. To Marie, her children were her life. She was always cheering for Caed at his hockey games, tae kwon do lessons and soccer games. Then came Lola with her dance lessons and soccer. Besides her children, cooking for her family brought much joy into her life. She made their house a home filled with so much love. Mom and Dad would like to give a special thank you to Marie's brother Mike for his special love and support during the last few hours of her special life and her brother Anthony for being there to give Marie his love and comfort. I would also like to thank her Aunts and Uncles from Sault Ste. Marie who traveled to Winnipeg for Marie's funeral mass and service. Marie will always be in our thoughts and hearts with love forever. Marie's family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Harris and her support staff at Grace Hospital and all the doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Palliative care unit for their special care and compassion.
