Obituary for Susan Foster (Rains)

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mom, Susan (Susie) Foster on Saturday, September 17th 2016 at ARCH after a courageous battle with cancer. Gone to join her always loving husband Alfred (Alfie) Foster. Loving “mother bear” to her four children, Monica Bergamin (Tony), Stephen, Chris (Bonnie) and Brian. Grama to Allison Hampton (Garth), Thomas Ogden (Jess), late Elizabeth Ogden, Norma Foster, Kyle Foster, Jeremy Foster, Elisha Foster, and Brandon Foster. Great-grama grama to Maddi, Taylor, Braden Hampton and Lincoln Ogden. All were her pride and joy! Daughter of the late Lyle Rains and late Isabel Rains (Caron). Daughter-in-law of the late Angus and late Laura Foster. Sister of Cecile Bouillion (Robert), late Roland Rains (Joyce), late Raymond Rains (Darlene). Sister in-law to Rita Gowans (Bill), late Earl and late Gerrie Foster, Claudette Bradford (Ken), late Gary Sharpe, and Linda Nisbet (Barry). Susan/Aunt Susie will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Susan had many friends that were considered family who will also miss her. Susan was a woman of many talents. She loved to sew, paint, do pottery and weave baskets. Susan's life long passion for the Arts and Crafts are well known. She made many pottery pieces, baskets, aprons, costumes for Halloween/ special events and up until recently was sewing American doll clothes for her great grandchildren. Many people have received one or more of Susan's creations as she was always making a gift for someone. Susan also loved passing along her talents by giving the gift of teaching her skills to others. Susan was never without some project in the works and made many wonderful friends along the way with whom she loved to share craft ideas and who will miss her craftiness! The family would like to sincerely thank all of Susan's caregivers on this journey for their wonderful care and attention. She was in excellent hands as everyone along the way did everything they could to make her journey easier. Last but not Least....Our sincere thank you to each and everyone at ARCH for their excellent caring. Susan was well cared for and well loved! Our gratitude is beyond words! Thank you to all who visited and brightened Susan's days. She was very grateful for all the wonderful positive energy. A special thank you to Colleen and Jennifer McLeod, Darlene Bobbi and Marilyn McDonald for always being there. A private family “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Susan's memory may be made to ARCH.

A Life Well Lived....Forever in our Hearts!
